As this harmful Billionaire Tax Scam moves to the Senate, people across the country are holding House Republicans accountable for their vote to prioritize billionaires over hardworking families.

Bakersfield, California: “Tensions are rising over proposed changes to Medicaid in the House’s new federal budget bill. Local GOP leaders say they are feeling that heat. As the House’s budget bill moves forward, protests have broken out across town, calling on lawmakers to protect programs like Medicaid. Local republicans Vince Fong and David Valadao voted to pass the bill[.]”
Boise, Idaho: “As President Trump’s spending bill is moving through congress, many people are worried about its proposed cuts to SNAP and Medicaid, safety nets for so many people. Those changes could hit rural communities really hard where access to food and health care is already limited.”
Rochester, Minnesota: “Earlier today faith leaders from Southeastern Minnesota protested outside US Representative Brad Finstad’s office. They were raising concerns over cuts to Medicaid and programs for low income people after the One Big Beautiful Bill passed the house by one vote. The bill would reduce the number of people medicaid benefits by over 7 million in the next 10 years as President Trump looks to uphold his campaign promise to cut government spending.”
Omaha, Nebraska: “Some neighbors are outraged over congressman Don Bacon’s yes vote to pass President Trump’s budget bill. Over the weekend at memorial park, they were protesting and saying this bill will affect medicaid and SNAP benefits for thousands of Nebraskans. According to an analysis from the Kaiser Family Foundation, up to 57,000 Nebraskans are at risk of losing their health coverage as a result of this bill. Congressman Bacon was one of the deciding votes on the bill.”
Seward, Nebraska: “Well, President Trump’s ‘big, beautiful’, spending bill is seeing some push back in the Senate this week after passing in the House. Now, it promises major tax cuts, but programs that help nearly half a million Nebraskakans will be paying the price. Right now, in Nebraska, 320,000 people rely on Medicaid. Elmira, New York: “Today, people gathered outside of congressman Nick Langworthy’s Corning office to protest looming federal cuts. Some of his constituents said they don’t feel heard, and feel his recent vote to cut funding to things like SNAP and medicaid will only hurt them.”
Medford, Oregon: “Demonstrators met in Vogel Plaza in downtown Medford today for the ‘die-in’ protest against president Donald Trump’s tax bill. Protesters say the ‘one big beautiful bill’ threatens to cut medicaid and SNAP benefits, while also including tax breaks for high class folks.”
Oshkosh, Wisconsin: “A small crowd gathered outside Senator Ron Johnson’s office in Oshkosh to protest the budget bill making its way through congress. Protesters say the cuts to Medicaid would help fund tax cuts for the rich, and millions would lose out on their health insurance. They say the cuts to medicaid would be the largest in the program’s history.”
