Washington, D.C. – House Republicans are trying yet another pathetic stunt to “rebrand” their toxically unpopular and harmful Billionaire Tax Scam, this time in Las Vegas. But no one is falling for their spin, and this gimmick won’t distract everyday Americans from the fact that Republicans raised their costs and took healthcare away from millions to fund tax breaks for billionaires and big corporations.
Quick reminder of the devastating harm the GOP Tax Scam will cause:
- The top 5% will receive more than half of the tax benefits, while the bottom 40% pay more.
- $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid funding, kicking more than 15 million people off their health insurance.
- Health care costs will skyrocket for more than 20 million people because Republicans intentionally gutted the Affordable Care Act while failing to extend the ACA tax credits.
- Energy bills will increase by an average of $400 per year by gutting investment in energy production.
- 5 million Americans will lose access to food assistance.
- The national debt will increase by nearly $4 trillion.
